I am bringing you yet another opportunity to give. I'm a firm believer that the world would be a better place if we, in addition to taking care of ourselves and our own, took care of our neighbors. I am committed to letting you know of ways to give of your time, your money and talent.
On Friday, February 3rd, I will be participating in the One Day/One Lunch project. I'll give up lunch that day, and donate whatever I would have spent on lunch towards Eagle's Nest International based in Guatemala, a non-profit catering to orphans and children.
The project was launched last year, February 3rd, by a teenager, Addisyn Block. Her family recently moved to Guatemala as missionaries to work at Eagle's Nest International. I blogged about the family here, or better still visit their blog here. I am an advocate for adoption over abortion, and do my best to support families that adopt. The idea for One Day/One Lunch was inspired by a trip Addisyn took to Ethiopia with her parents to pick up her adopted baby sister Havyn. She was impacted by the poverty she witnessed and decided to do something to make a difference. Read here about the launch of One Day/One Lunch project. The project raised more than $6,000 for the Adami Tulu Preschool in Ethiopia.

This year, the goal is the same, to raise money for needs at the Eagle's Nest International. Addisyn is asking YOU, yes, YOU to join with others to make a difference in the life of a child. On the one year anniversary of One Day/One Lunch, let's go without lunch and give what we would have spent on lunch to Eagle's Nest International. The fund raised will be used for scholarships. In addition, she is asking that we take a step further and challenge friends, family, coworkers, classmates and churches to join in raising money for a worthy cause. If you are not willing to give up food, give up a manicure, coffee or a February magazine subscription.
If 100 people gave up lunch of approximately $10, we can raise a thousand. You can give more if you so desire. The idea is to give. Everyone can give no matter your creed, religion, race, political affliliation or lack of...
Sacrifice lunch or something else on Friday, February 3rd to help a child go to school. That small sacrifice will make a huge difference in these
children's lives.
According to a blog post by Addisyn, "Education is the key
to breaking free from the cycle of poverty and yet so many of us take
it for granted. It cost approximately $450 a year per student to attend
the New Day Christian school on Eagles Nest campus. $450 a year for a
child to not only be educated in math and science but more importantly in the word of God.
While not all of us have $450 laying around, if a bunch of us came
together and gave what we could, gave up our lunch money for one day- together we could make a difference.
To give go here.

I plan to give on the 3rd, would you consider joining in the cause?
Beloved, You are Loved Absolutely!
