Okay, I am back. :)
My phone broke in July, and I was using my mom's old phone while I anticipated January 1st, 2012. My mom is a basic "call and barely text" lady...,you should get an idea what kind of phone her old, not current phone was. I am too humiliated to share a picture. It is dang on ancient of days old. Lets leave it at that. My friends make fun of me every-time I pull it out, flip it open, toss back my fine afro head and answer a call. Their laughter is definitely getting old, and I was at my breaking point in September...4 months too soon. lol.
With my upgrade comes the question: which phone should I upgrade to?
iPhone 4s versus Blackberry Bold?

I personally would have opted for a Palm phone, but none of its newest offerings tickle my fancy.
This is a dilemma I have to contend with. I know many people would easily slid over to the iPhone camp, but I might not be old school, however I love my keypads.
I can use either one on international travel, but iPhone has better apps.
I want the BB messenger mainly because I can communicate with most of my friends internationally and nationally who happen to be BB users.
iPhone takes better pictures, but BB takes good enough pictures.
The BB has better calender and scheduling capabilities.
The iPhone is all touch screen, but the newest BB has both keypad and touch screen (yay, where is my Palm when I need it?)
I am not a geeky phone nuts, so I am calling out the features that are important to me. Do you know of any other reason to choose one over the other?
However, it all boils down to the touch screen versus keypad for me. Crazy innit? I am still undecided on what I want. Maybe I would try the iPhone out for 30-days, and if I am not in love, I am getting myself a BB. Everything in me says I would fall in desperate love with the iPhone if I choose it. I owned a BB once for approximately 30 days. I did not like it, and I exchanged it for something else. :(
Gosh, what makes me think I am going to like it now?
I have a friend who is all about the iPhone. He is probably going to kick me if I default to the BB dark side. Such pressure. lol
Geez...it is just a phone, but I am making it such a big deal. lol.
What would you recommend and why?
In terms of apps, iPhone 4s is sure better. However, in terms of utility across borders, BB gives you the flexibility of connection.
ReplyDeletebasically for me, thats the main differnce :)

I'll go for both...yea, I cld be greedy like that. But really...I've used both and I find myself stuck with the Blackberry. Iphone take Nice pictures BUT by the time you upload them online or your laptop they all look the same...regardless of the phone used. Yes...the iphone has more apps but really, how many of them are important for everyday use? No matter the platform, blackberry, iphone, android...the most downloaded apps are similar, Facebook, Twitter and Angry Birds...the most useful/important apps are available on all platforms.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the Blackberry because of its connectivity even between apps. It is an office to me and I get a lot done with it.
Hahaha...thanks guys. I am leaning towards the BB mainly because I like my keypad :), but I have had one in the past and the picture quality was superb. I am not into apps really...facebook, twitter, and a few others are what I need and they are available on BB.
ReplyDeleteI also need virtual workspace so the BB is winning handsdown on that. I have many pros and cons for both, so it is almost time to make a decision. I will keep the world updated.
Shuu, I am tempted to try the iPhone for about 30 days and then decide. lol
Lord, help me.
I think we are alike on this phone issue, as in, for me, it comes down to the keypad versus touchscreen too. That's about the only reason I have not even ventured near the iPhone. I don't like not having a keypad at all. So, that leaves you with the BlackBerry. But don't be fooled about keeping in touch with the BB sha. If folks have not kept in touch with you even without the BB, there's no saying that will change. I guess having that option is the plus side, though. Plus, the BB seems to be flimsier (not as sturdy) as the iPhone.
ReplyDelete@Relentless...go away jare! Dnt further confuse me. lol. I am making a decision soon. I read a post from a blogfriend about her new iPhone and now I am like ...humm. I need to pray, God promised wisdom when you ask and the only questins the blue sky is asking is "what can you afford?" Woreva God...lol
